This ambitious initiative will support student and staff mobility between Rennes 2 and its partner universities, fostering academic cooperation, innovation in teaching, and sustainable institutional development.
The project is built around the Geography and Applied Economics and Social Sciences (AES) departments at Rennes 2. It aims to promote mutual enrichment and diversification in both research and education. Key objectives include the co-construction of shared training programmes, the development of joint teaching modules, the establishment of co-supervised doctoral theses, and increased teaching mobility between partner institutions.
For Rennes 2 University, the project represents an important step in the development of innovative teaching practices and contributes directly to its Internationalisation@Home strategy. Through the design and delivery of jointly developed online courses with African partners, the initiative will enhance international learning experiences for students who may not themselves be mobile.
For partner institutions in Africa, the project addresses structural unemployment, particularly graduate unemployment. By strengthening skills development and improving employability, the initiative aims to support the emergence of a responsible, forward-looking academic community that is closely connected to its economic and social environment. The project also contributes to regional cooperation and to the reinforcement of human and institutional capacities across participating countries.
In the longer term, the project will strengthen the international profile of the participating institutions and their programmes. By building on sustainable actions and consolidating partnerships, it supports a more structured and focused approach to international cooperation. It also encourages cross-disciplinary collaboration and continued international engagement.
